About the course:
A comprehensive course providing the skills needed for any young designer to survive in the web and graphic design media, making use of relevant software programs to complete an all-rounded certificate qualification. This course layout allows for individual modular/part study or completing all four modules as a whole. This course is offered on a Basic to Intermediate level.

PART 1: WEB DESIGN - R1999 per person, includes:
• HTML (Hyper Text Mark-up Language, coding)
Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) is the principal language used to define documents on the Web. HTML allows Web designers to mark up standard documents to include images and hypertext links to related documents or objects.
• CSS (Cascading Style Sheets, coding)
Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) is a style sheet language used to describe the look and formatting of a document written in a markup language, eg. HTML. It is used primarily for document presentation, eg. colour, font and layout elements and provides further control in presentation characteristics, sharing formatting over multiple pages, making updates on large sites quick and easy and reduces the repetition of structural content, eg. tableless web design sites.
• DREAMWEAVER
Dreamweaver is a professional HTML editor for designing, coding, and developing websites, web pages, and web applications. Whether you enjoy the control of hand-coding HTML or prefer to work in a visual editing environment, Dreamweaver provides you with helpful tools to enhance your web creation experience.

PART 2: PRINT GRAPHICS - R1999 per person, includes:
• COREL DRAW - Most commonly used Vector and Line Art graphic program.
One of the most powerful graphic design programs on the market today is part of the Corel Graphics Package, called Corel Draw. This program gives you creative freedom to design any graphic conceivable. Design graphics for the Printed Media or the Web Media, for example, logos, corporate identities (business cards, letterheads, fax letterheads, complementary slips, etc), magazine advertisements, CD covers and labels, web page backgrounds, etc. Corel Draw's latest versions has some existing new functions and ensures some creative fun
• PART 3: IMAGE GRAPHICS - R1999 per person, includes:
• ADOBE PHOTOSHOP - Most used Photo editing and image enhancement & design program
Adobe Photoshop is an easy to use graphics application for Apple Macintosh, PC's and SGI computers. Photoshop is designed as a post-production graphics package, for final editing of photographic quality images as well as Web graphics. Photoshop is not designed as a painting package, but can be used on a limited basis for such.

PART 4: WEB GRAPHICS - R1999 per person, includes:
• FLASH - Most used animation, presentation and web graphic program.
Flash is the professional standard authoring tool for producing high-impact Web experiences. With it, you are able to create anything from animated logos, navigation controls to entire Flash Web sites. Flash integrates with the other multimedia programs such as Dreamweaver, Fireworks, etc.
